0.03mm bristles, more than 1.7M shots – a brush mould still running

This mould was built several years ago for a surgical brush application.

Each brush contains 960 ultra-fine bristles, with thickness down to 0.15-0.03 mm.

Filling such thin structures consistently required careful venting design and independent inserts for each group.

Built with Stavax steel and hardened components, designed for long-term stability.

Recently the customer contacted us again–for spare parts after more than 1.7 million shots.

Moments like this are always satisfying for a mould maker. It means the tool is doing exactly what it was designed for: stable production, year after year.
